KZLK is a Cairo-based artist who witnessed the whole journey of mahraganat ever since it was a traditional folk way of celebrating in weddings, with all its traditions and elements. In 2019 KZLK released a new album under the name Lstefa (meaning: archives).

He says: “Before this scene became trendy and before the sounds became this clean and in a good quality that makes it sellable, El Mouled (the origin of mahraganat) was and still is a huge part of Egyptian culture. It’s the only event that attracted Egyptians to the streets to enjoy their time away from tickets and spending money.”
